Nona Garcia's "After a while, you get used to it" is a suite of
paintings representing small, unmarked boxes and positioned in
the center of the canvas. Juxtaposed to the canvases
are x-ray images shone through by light boxes which
reveal their hidden contents-lock, bracelet, square of
palpitating light-arguing the limits of sight and
surface and affirming the dynamism of even the most
inert object.
