I love it when you lie

In "I Love it When You Lie," artist Lui Medina assumes
the role of a voyeur in her photographs and paintings,
deftly interpreting her friends' social rituals of
display. Neither subversive nor overtly erotic, the
works frame the unlikeliest but highly charged
imageries, asserting that the artist's process as
enquiry into her own personal restraint. She sees her
works as peepholes that mimic the idea of a looking
glass or as portals into an alternate reality or the
subconscious, offering a view that is oblique,
rudimentary and wildly surprising.
