Making Truth Forgettable

Bernardo Pacquing
July 17 to August 5, 2008

Opening on July 17 at the Finale Art Gallery is Bernardo Pacquing’s “Making Truth Forgettable.” Composed of a series of six shadow boxes and other assemblages in varying sizes, the exhibit challenges the viewer's notion of truth by presenting the other side of a story, “the other perspective in every truth.” Venerating the world as multi-faceted and non-linear reality, the artist asserts the conflict and opposition of points of view, informed and animated as they are by a set of biases, personalities and values. “Be it in or out of the box,” the artist maintains that we have our own respective signals in processing our own version of reality, proof of the post-modernist belief that not one has the monopoly of truth and truth-telling.
