"Pink Noise" by Daphne Aguilar is an assemblage of musical instruments and similarly shaped objects which are positioned with a palpable order meant to exhaust the synesthetic qualities of color. At once conveyor of sound and texture--aside from their visual cues--they seem to herald a fixity and conclusion: no hand will beat the drums again. Connecting to the gallery's long history in its soon-to-be-ending site, the exhibit documents the event on a somber, non-sentimental note, proving that artworks, wherever and whatever they may be, function essentially as oraculars of color.
