On view at the Finale Art Gallery (4/F Bldg. A, SM Megamall) until Sept. 16 is Ian Quirante's “3M1:Rauschte.” Revealing a wild sweep of post-apocalyptic ruminations, the artist breaks a world into myriad codes--text, drips, industrial appendages, human parts--betraying a twisted, penetrating kind of intelligence that approaches near exhaustion and Dada-esque heights. Hysterical in their juxtapositions and complex in their internally-generated language, the canvases explode with symbols, associations and collisions, providing a veritable map to either our doom or restoration.
