In Robert Langenegger's recent works, the artist deconstructs idealized figures, showing the inherent perversions in the dailiness of our transactions. Hyperbolic in its sexual content, the works don't titillate as much as expose the horrendous face of power relations, more acutely the oppression evoked by religious symbols. By exposing the ugly, the rejected and the perverted, the artist sombers us up to the conflict-riddled reality and uncovers our most terrible vulnerabilities.
