On view until Oct. 29 at the Video Room of Finale Art File is Ronald Achacoso "Bestiary." What will immediately confront the viewer are fossil outlines hovering on a single tone of a background. Upon closer inspection, an image, such as a face of train, struggles through the dream-haze of color, a ghostly apparition subverted by the artist's intention to layer forms and intentionally vanish the figurative. The result disrupts any notions of perspective and relational connections between his forms, making the visible world in his works a veritable guessing game. What you see, the artist argues, is not necessarily what you get.
