On view until Oct. 29 at the Upstairs Gallery of Finale Art File is Poklong Anading's Untitled (Plot)." Conceptual in nature, the exhibit is austere in its rendition of lines: gold pencil sketches against a charcoal-black background. With no seeming intention to create recognizable forms, the gold lines flit like momentary filaments of light--occurrences that are either seen under microscope (the feverish dance of energy) or through a telescope (the celestial swarm in deep space). But no matter the correlation, the works have a impenetrable quality--solid and unyielding to scrutiny--and yet pulsate with quick-acting thought manifested in evanescent strokes.
