INCHMEALS

Opening on Aug. 12 is Redd Nacpil's "Inchmeals" at the Upstairs Gallery of Finale Art File. In this exhibit, the artist demonstrates his graphic tendencies, juxtaposing an explosion of colors with geometric lines, creating contemporary, youth-informed images elevated to the level of dazzle. Decidedly “cool” and edgy, the works unhinge our visual faculties, approximating what we would feel like during a chemical high. Not just visual renditions of psychobabbles, the works are unstinting in their commentaries on the life in the city and yet are affirming of the various transformations and possibilities of escape available in the ordinary.
