The Last Let-Go
by LYRA GARCELLANO
November 4 to 23, 2010
The Last Let-Go is about forgetting and the forgotten. Empty picture frames hang on wall-papered walls. Scraped, tattered and layered one after the other, the wallpapers suggests remnants of a forgotten past and an unremembered present. The single digital picture frame reveals a repeating image of a car on a foggy stretch of road. Blinking on the screen in 5-second intervals, the image slowly changes from color to black as if to depict the cessation of a memory. It is a slow unsteady goodbye to an unfinished future.
