Poklong Anading once again demonstrates his conceptual prowess with “Monster Race.” A video art projection, the work reveals an object that is being pushed by a white board marker which traces its movement across the white space by way of different colors. It’s difficult to tell whether it is the hand or the object that determines the movement but both are charged with the same tireless energy whose sole intent is to be kinetic. As the work is being revealed in real time, it gives the idea that it will never be finished and is suspended in its eternal lineations; the determination to "leave a mark" has never been more doggedly and powerfully executed.
