Opening on February 10 at the Upstairs Gallery of Finale Art File is Super Pilosopo by Redd Nacpil. His images—strong in their graphic tendencies and unapologetic portrayal of the youth culture—are once again present in this show but this time explore the artist’s role as a communicator in presenting a complex world that is untranslatable into words. For him, “artistic expression of an idea” interpreted by an artist “using common languages such as symbols, words, objects, processes, and images” should always constantly push the envelope of representation. Aware of the limitations set by his medium, the artist needs to constantly find a resounding voice that invokes and involves the world fraught with instabilities.
